Rich Levin
Rich Levin is Senior Vice President and Editor-in-Chief of Gregory FCA. He has over 20 years of experience in the media as a journalist, broadcaster, blogger, and interactive programmer. While senior editor of InformationWeek magazine, Levin was nominated for two Computer Press Association awards, and won CMP Media’s “Excellence in Editorial” award. His reporting was introduced as evidence by U.S. Justice Department prosecutors during the U.S. vs. Microsoft Corp. antitrust trial. Levin was the first computer technology reporter for CBS Radio’s KYW NewsRadio 1060 AM, Philadelphia’s #1 radio station. He was also the first computer talk show host for CBS Radio’s WPHT Talk Radio 1210 AM, “The Big Talker,” where he chaired a 3-hour weekly call-in/interview program. Levin was a finalist for the Philadelphia A.I.R. “Best Weekend Talk Show Host” award, and was nominated for a “Best Computer Technology Podcast” award. Levin also authored five best-selling computer books published by McGraw-Hill and Dorling-Kindersley. He was among the first bloggers, starting his blog in 2001, well before blogs and social networking became de rigueur. Levin has been deeply involved in digital media since the mid-80’s, when online communities were in their infancy. A Microsoft Visual Basic Most Valuable Professional (MVP), Levin developed several successful software and interactive applications, including Checkup, one of the first virus detection systems; Space Ace, the first automated data management program; WinBak, the first automated restore point utility; and BBSX, an early social network.
